Darius Garland, Ricky Rubio to Miss Time for Cavs
Garland
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Darius Garland will miss multiple weeks with a left eye laceration, the team announced Wednesday.
Garland suffered the injury in the first quarter of Cleveland's 127-126 overtime loss to the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday night. He was accidentally poked in the eye by Raptors forward OG Anunoby while driving to the basket.
Garland is averaging 20.3 points and 8.1 assists per game this season. He is one of the Cavs' most important players, and his absence will be a major blow to the team.
Rubio
The Cavs also announced Wednesday that Ricky Rubio will miss at least two weeks with a left quadriceps strain.
Rubio suffered the injury in the second half of Tuesday's game against the Raptors. He is averaging 13.1 points and 6.6 assists per game this season.
The Cavs are now without their two starting guards, and they will need other players to step up in their absence.
